What is a Jog-a-Thon?

The Willow Springs Jog-a-Thon is our annual fundraiser where students are invited to find sponsors to donate to their run. On the day of the Jog-a-Thon, there is excitement in the whole school! Parents, siblings, and spectators are invited and encouraged to cheer for their student, purchase lunch at concessions, and participate in all the fun activities at the school during this event!

The entire school day will be dedicated to the Jog-a-Thon! To keep students safe, each grade will come outside at a designated time (see details below). Students will run a race route with their grade level through the neighborhood adjacent to the school and will finish on the grass field (See map below: Blue Route for K & 1, Red Route for 2-5 Grades). After their race, students can enjoy concessions, dunk tanks, dancing, and playground fun. After they have enjoyed their time outside, they will return back to their classroom and end the day with an awards ceremony assembly!

How does the

Jog-a-Thon

raise money?

Students are invited to find sponsors that will donate to their run. Donations are collected as a lump sum and collected online through our fuss-free fundraising site. To reach our fundraising goal, we are asking a $35 donation per child, but any amount really helps. Please consider a minimum of $10 donation to help cover the cost of the school t-shirts that will provided to every student.

After the students finish their run, they remain outside enjoying concessions, playground time, and soaking their teachers in dunk tanks!  Proceeds from dunk tank sales and concessions add to the fundraising goals for the Jog-a-Thon. Cash and card are accepted on the day of the Jog-a-Thon for these purchases.

Once celebrations have wrapped up, students will return to class and end the day with a school-wide assembly. Please plan for a regular Friday "early-out" pickup time of 1:55pm.

How is the money spent?

PTA funds directly support our school with field trips, classroom grants, & teacher appreciation.  In the past 2 years, Willow Springs PTA donations paid for all field trips, supported the purchase of playground sun shades, bought additional materials for art classes, instruments for music classes, games for PE classes, as well as gave meaningful gifts and support for teachers and staff in the school.

Involvement in PTA can look as big or as small as YOU need for your situation.  Our goal is to have a PTA member from every Willow Springs household. This will help us as a community stay connected and help our school grow stronger!
