Willow Springs Elementary PTA Sponsored Programs
Willow Springs PTA hosts an annual jog-a-thon. This is part of the no-fuss-fundraiser, and is the PTA's only fundraiser, providing funds for all of the programs sponsored by the PTA. Proceeds go to everything listed here and on our “About” page.
This year the Jog-a-Thon is on October 7th.
2022-23 Year theme is “Show your Voice”. The categories are: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, 2D Visual Arts and 3D Visual Arts. At Willow Springs, Kindergarten – 2nd grade are in the Primary division. 3rd – 5th grade are in the Intermediate division.

Come have fun as you learn the exciting and challenging game of chess! Students can achieve 6 rank advancements as new skills are mastered. Chess meetings are Friday mornings at 8am in the Cafeteria and typically run from October through the Friday before Spring break. Chess is free to all members. Parents, Grandparents and friends are invited.
WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) fathers and father-figures make a positive impact on Willow Springs students by volunteering to help out at school.
This is how it works:
Register at Volunteer.CanyonsDistrict.org to be a Canyons School District volunteer. Please do this at least 2 days in advance of your first WATCH D.O.G.S. assignment.
At the front-office visitor computers, sign in as a PTA volunteer to get a name badge.
Let the front office staff know you're there to volunteer with WATCH D.O.G.S. They will provide a WATCH D.O.G.S. t-shirt and rules lanyard. As a reference, here are the lunch & recess times should you want to volunteer during those times:
Kindergarten 12:15 - 12:55 lunch, 11:15 - 11:30 recess
1st 11:30 - 12:10 lunch, 10:15-10:30 & 2:30 - 2:45 recess
2nd/ACC 12:00 - 12:40 lunch, 2:15 - 2:30 recess
3rd 12:15 - 12:55 lunch, 2:00 - 2:15 recess
4th/ACC 11:15 - 11:55 lunch, 1:45 - 2:00 recess
5th 11:45 - 12:25 lunch, 2:15 - 2:30 recess

To help earn extra cash for the school, the PTA runs Book Fairs at each parent teacher night. Volunteers are needed for book fairs.
